2009 National Patient Safety Goals

NPSG.07.04.01 is a phase-in goal. That means hospitals have which of the following:

 

  1. A one-year period to phase in compliance with this goal, but they must meet certain requirements at quarterly intervals, which are: April 2009, July 2009, September 2009, and January 2010.

     

  2. A one-year phase-in period with all requirements met by January 2010. As long as the goal is fully implemented by January 2010, the hospital is compliant with the goal.

     

  3. A one-year phase-in period with specific requirements due by January 2009, July 2009, and January 2010.
